Hungary participated in the twenty-second edition of the Eurovision Song Contest Tengaged which was hosted in Norrköping, Sweden. The Hungarian entry was selected through the national competition A Dal 11, organised by the Hungarian broadcaster MTVA. Hungary was represented by Blahalouisiana with the song "Without Me". The entry didn't qualify from the first semi-final and finished 13th with 54 points.

Before Eurovision Tengaged

On 7th September MTVA announced that Hungary will participate in the twenty-second edition of the Eurovision Song Contest Tengaged, despite the poor results from last edition.

A Dal 11

The format returned with its current system with 2 rounds, one with a jury voting and another one with a and public voting. MTVA presented the 3 candidates with new familiar faces in it.

A total of 13 country juries took part in the jury voting, whose votes were added up to the televoting later. The final started on 14 September, ending on 21 September 2016. The winner announcement took place on 22 September 2016 where Blahalousiana was announced as the big winner and got the right to represent Hungary in Eurovision Song Contest Tengaged 22 with her song "Without Me".

At Eurovision Tengaged

On 23 September 2016, the semi-final allocation draw for the Eurovision Song Contest Tengaged 22 took place. Hungary was drawn to perform in the first half of the first semi-final.

Blahalouisiana couldn't make it through the semifinals and finished in the thirteenth place with 54 points recieving 12 points from Luxembourg.


Hungary participated and had to vote in the first semi-final. In the final, Hungary announced their votes as 4th.
